LANTRA TOWING & TRAILER HANDLING ACCREDITED TRAINING COURSES
Tuppco provides Lantra-accredited towing and trailer handling training, equipping operators with the practical skills, knowledge, and certification needed to tow and handle trailers safely and efficiently. Our courses cover safe towing practices, vehicle and trailer checks, coupling and uncoupling, nose weight, towing weights, braking, manoeuvring, and reversing, with practical hands-on training using your own towing vehicles and trailers wherever possible. Tuppco’s trailer handling training helps operators develop the competence required to safely tow trailers across agricultural, landscaping, grounds maintenance, construction, estates, commercial, and land-based environments, as well as for leisure and recreational applications.

What is a ride-on & pedestrian mower?
Ride-on mowers are tractor like machines, with an engine and cutting deck. They are small, maneuverable machines, ideal for cutting lawns, around flower beds, trees and under furniture. Cutting decks can be in front or below the operator. Cutting decks can have optional mulching or grass collection box.
A pedestrian mower is an ideal machine for mowing small amounts of grass around flower beds, trees and under furniture etc. The operator can either push the mower or the mower can be powered by a transmission. The mower can have different cutting options and can include a pickup box.

What does the Tuppco training course include?
- Have a basic understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as an operator
- Have a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machine to be used
- Be able to locate and identify the major components of the machine and explain their functions
- Be able to locate and identify key controls and explain their functions
- Conduct set up zones
- Conduct all pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacturers and legislative requirements
- Select suitable type of machine relative to the work being undertaken
- Identify and maintain PPE appropriate for ride-on lawn mower for use
- Prepare the ride-on lawn mower for use
- Conduct all necessary safety checks at the work area and set up exclusion zone
- Operate machinery safely and efficiently

Objective Of The Course
