NPORS Remote Control Flail Mower Training in Devon for Keystone Environmental

Onsite NPORS remote control flail mower training to experienced operators at Keystone Environmental in Devon.

Tuppco recently delivered a one-day NPORS Remote Control Flail Mower training course onsite in Devon for Keystone Environmental, helping three experienced operators develop and demonstrate their knowledge and practical skills when operating remote-controlled flail mowing equipment safely and effectively.

The course was delivered by Tuppco founder Bertie Tupper, who provided a combination of classroom based theory and practical operator training tailored to the candidates’ existing experience and the requirements of their work.

Onsite Machinery Training in Devon

For businesses operating specialist machinery, having training delivered onsite can be a practical and effective way to minimise disruption while ensuring operators are trained on equipment relevant to their day-to-day work.

The NPORS remote control flail mower course covered the essential knowledge and practical skills required for safe machine operation, including:

  • Site risk assessment and identifying potential hazards
  • Relevant Health and Safety Acts and Regulations
  • Operator safety, including the correct use of PPE
  • Machine controls and their functions
  • Machine capabilities, including safe operation on slopes
  • Pre-use checks and identifying potential defects
  • Routine maintenance
  • General machine operation and safe working practices

The training was designed around the needs of three experienced candidates, allowing Bertie to build on their existing knowledge while ensuring the required theory and practical competencies were covered.

Successful NPORS Assessments

At the end of the course, all three candidates successfully completed and passed both the NPORS theory and practical assessments.

Successful completion provides the candidates with formal recognition of their competence while reinforcing the importance of safe and responsible machinery operation in the workplace.

Remote-controlled flail mowers can be particularly useful for vegetation management and working in challenging areas, but operators need a clear understanding of the machine’s capabilities and limitations. Training therefore plays an important role in helping operators assess working conditions, understand risks and use the equipment safely.
